Due diligence is the process of verification, investigation or audit of a potential deal of an investment opportunity to confirm all information is correct. Due diligence is completed before a deal closes to provide the buyer with the assurance of what they are getting. Transactions that undergo a due diligence process offer a higher chance of success. This allows the buyer to feel more comfortable that his/her expectation regarding this transaction are correct.
